RED DEER RUT OCTOBER 2014 - BLOG 3
Another busy week, here at Exmoor Photography. We were fully booked again this week and we have once again experienced some great moments with our customers, who have all taken some cracking images. Despite being up against it at times with the weather, we have persevered and managed to satisfy everyone. We were buffeted by the strong winds at the beginning of the week, therefore, I was very impressed that Ian, Francis, Bob & Tina managed t...o get any shots at all, well-done guys. I know I have said it before, but all customers this week have again worked extremely hard with Jamie and listened to our directions and advice, in some conditions, that at times have not been conducive for photography. The dreaded Exmoor fog has been our main problem this week. It has remained quite mild though, and we have only had the hand warmers out once so far, so it could have been much worse. I think that Jamie has walked an average 3 to 5 miles per day during the stalks. Almost all of which have been successful, after all they are wild animals so it doesn’t always go to plan, but I reckon a ‘hit’ rate of 95% + is pretty good! We have had a varied assortment of cameras used on the course this week, from a (high-end) compact with 30x optical zoom, some very good bridge cameras to SLR’s. Obviously some are better than others, but I think that all have produced some great results. It has been fascinating seeing the images and comments that customers have posted on the Exmoor Photography Course Customer Forum page (thanks everyone). I think their images speak for themselves and sum up our customer’s achievement’s this week far better than any words I can use here. The camouflage clothing customers have brought with them has been very helpful and the balaclavas and gloves we provide, although not fashion statements (Barbara ) seem to have worked well. Really, well done again everybody, I have again enjoyed meeting new and returning customers. It’s a bit like that lager advert says; I really do feel like I have the best job in the world! I must thank my friend Jamie without whom, I would find it impossible to complete the courses, as a physically restricted person, he literally is my right hand man. My beautiful wife Alison for all the late nights and early mornings making cakes and hot flasks for us.
